O'Keefe Educational Media (formerly Destination & Educational Videos) is a nonprofit
corporation started from a passion to fill a need for quality
films for educational, tourism, and business development on the Gulf
Coast and Mississippi. The Gulf Coast is a cross
section of people from diverse backgrounds, many from 5th generation families. O'Keefe Educational Media (formerly Destination & Educational Videos)
looks for areas that an educational film will bring needed information to
Mississippi citizens. Our goal is to produce and distribute interesting, factually accurate
educational films in a cost-effective manner. Films will be distributed to
public libraries and schools and available online so that all Mississippi
citizens regardless of age, income, ethnic background, or disability will have
access to them.
"Destination:
Gulf Coast" -
Pre-Katrina Edition
This film introduces viewers
to the beautiful Gulf Coast of Mississippi. It is a window view to
anyone wanting to visit or relocate to the area. Information is included on
numerous coast industries: hotel/motel, golf, charter boat fishing, recreation,
special events, gaming, restaurants, retail shopping, attractions, and even
higher education with 115 places to visit. By visually highlighting the
variety and quality of accommodations, attractions, and local points of
interest, potential visitors can appreciate and plan for the length of stay
required to fully experience the Gulf Coast. It is being distributed as a
'quality of life' piece --great for tour operators, travel agents, realtors, and
anyone tour and travel industry. It is also a great aid for current and
potential residents to the area to experience the culture, attractions and
general lay-of-the-land. The first edition was released in 2002, with several updates since then. It's available in DVD.
